Responsibility

Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)

At PureComms, we believe strongly in ‘giving something back.’ We pride ourselves on our commitment to sustainable development and ethical behaviour, while improving the quality of life for our work force, their families and the local and wider communities in which we operate.

PureComms is proud to either work alongside or support a number of organisations within our wider community.  Below is a list of the organisations we are currently supporting:

Georgie and Caitlin with Bristol Bears player Yann Thomas

Bristol Bears

As huge rugby and Bristol Bears fans, we are very proud to say that we have renewed our sponsorship of prop Yann Thomas for the 2022/23 season.

Thomas began playing rugby at Nailsea and Backwell RFC, a local club that we also sponsor and with whom staff are heavily involved, so we are privileged to solidify this link between a local team and professional Premiership Rugby.

Local sports clubs

We sponsor a number of local sports clubs close to our office in Tickeham.

Not only do we sponsor the club, but our staff are also heavily involved with the running of the club and managing its community.

Our CEO, Rob, plays for the Third team and is a player representative. Sales Executive, Jack, captains and plays for the Seniors 2nd team. And, both Rob and Jack are coaches for the Juniors team.

At Burnham RFC, we sponsor a grandstand-mounted advertising board at their grounds. Not only does this provide us with a great advertising opportunity, it also brings our brand to a wider audience and provides us with an opportunity to help out a sports club a little further from our home.

Woodspring Women FC is a women’s football team for those aged 16+ in North Somerset. A newly founded team, their aim is to provide more opportunities for women and football in the local area and create a community environment between their players, families and fans. We are sponsoring Woodspring Women FC’s away team kit.

These sponsorships include advertising opportunities as well as the option to take clients to local sporting events and exclusive sponsors lunches.  It also helps us to be part of the local community and to network with new contacts.

Children’s Hospice South West

Children’s Hospice South West is our ‘charity of choice’.  It has three sites, one of which is located close to our Tickenham office. Each year we arrange a number of events and fundraising initiatives to help raise money to support this amazing charity.

In previous years, our CEO, Rob, has undertaken some incredible challenges including a three-day trek to reach the 4101m high peak of Mt Kinabalu in Borneo, and walking coast-to-coast across Costa Rica. In 2022 he will be walking and rafting across Madagascar, all in aid of CHSW.

We have also supplied and maintained fish tanks at each site, helping to provide a relaxing resource to people who are visiting the hospices. We are very proud to say that we even installed one of these fish tanks in the family home of a child who unfortunately passed away, to help provide comfort to their sibling in a time of need.

The South West Tourism Awards

The 2021/22 South West Tourism Awards cover Bristol, Bath, Somerset and part of Exmoor, and offer businesses the chance to win local and regional awards for various different categories. These categories include pubs, restaurants, wedding and business venues, attractions and events. We are extremely proud to sponsor the South West Tourism Awards off the back of what has been an exceptionally challenging time period for the travel and hospitality sectors.

North Somerset Enterprise Agency/The Hive

When PureComms CEO (Rob Vivian) started the business, he had a wealth of knowledge and experience within the Telecoms and procurement consultancy sector, but limited knowledge of all the individual facets he needed to consider when starting and running a business.

Recognising that he needed to find out more, Rob approached North Somerset Enterprise Agency (NSEA), a dedicated business support service based at The Hive (managed workspace), Weston-super-Mare.  NSEA provided a comprehensive range of support services over a sustained period including: business advice and support, low cost training courses, dedicated high-growth mentoring, networking opportunities, signposting to other support services and help with business planning and growth plans. Rob comments:

“When I started PureComms I met with one of the business advisors at NSEA, who looked though the business plan and gave me lots of useful advice. The agency also runs a number of courses which are very helpful from a business perspective and are affordable. For example, I attended a book keeping course which was extremely useful. NSEA also runs a business club that shares relevant and up to date business information amongst its members.  Chief Executive (Angela Hicks) has introduced us to a number of useful contacts in the local area and has been vocal in her support of us.”
