The managing director of a south west telecoms business is tackling his fear of heights head-on by participating in a charity challenge, which will see him scale Borneo’s tallest mountain.
Rob Vivian, Managing Director of Pure Comms, is embarking on a sponsored two-day trek to reach the 4101m high peak of Mount Kinabalu.
Located in Eastern Malaysia, Kinabalu has been described as a very tough trek not to be undertaken lightly.
Apart from breathtaking views from one of South East Asia’s highest mountains, visitors can enjoy a variety of wildlife in the Mount Kinabalu National Park, including carnivorous plants.
Rob hopes to raise a total of £10,000 from the climb for his chosen charity Children’s Hospice South West.
Children’s Hospice South West provides hospice care for limited life children and their families across the South West of England.
The care the charity offers extends beyond medical to enrich the lives of children and their families and build precious memories to carry into the future.
Rob comments: “It is an absolutely terrifying prospect for me but I am looking forward to experiencing the sights and taking on the challenge.
“The work that the Children’s Hospice does really does make a difference and if I’m going to face my fears I can’t think of better cause to do it for.”
Pure Comms has been in business for seven years and has two offices, one just outside of Bristol and one in St Austell in Cornwall.
The business works with a number of high-profile clients including Bristol Airport, BWOC, Opus, Computerworld and Redrock Consulting.
