Independent network comparison site, cable.co.uk conducted 8989 broadband speed tests around the city, compiling average measurements for the performance of broadband across the city.
The average download speed of broadband in Bristol was around 20MBps, with an average upload speed of 2MBps. The fastest download speed measured was 395MBps.
Availability
The availability of your broadband will depend on your location in the city. The top three Bristol region postcodes with the fastest broadband speeds were BS4 (27MBps), BS10 (25.4MBps) and BS15(24.9MBps). Setting up a business in one of these areas will help to ensure you get a fast, high quality connection.
Providers
In terms of the fastest internet providers, the tests conducted by cable.co.uk found that Vodafone (25.3MBps), Virgin Media(22.2MBps) and Plusnet(14.3MBps) offered the highest broadband speeds. TalkTalk(8.4MBps), Sky(8.3Mbps) and Be(8MBps) offered the slowest speeds.
