The UK’s leading independent fuel supplier BWOC has noticed a positive impact since switching to North Somerset telecoms provider Pure Comms.

For BWOC, who are based in Weston-super-Mare, logistics and delivering fuel on-time is vital to maintaining their well-established reputation; with communication via the telephone and internet an integral link in the business chain.

So much so that when they recently experienced a fault with their telephone system they really began to see the value of their telecoms provider Pure Comms.

Towards the end of another busy Monday, at the turn of the financial year, the telephone system failed at 5pm and with a tight schedule of deliveries planned for the next day the issue could have easily ended up costing BWOC money.

But thanks to Pure Comms this wasn’t the case; as BWOC’s Financial Director Steve Corrick explains in more detail:
“As for any business, having the phone and internet down can be a real nightmare. For us it hampers scheduling, deliveries and logistics – it’s a real hassle.

“We phoned Pure Comms and got through to Rob Vivian – Managing Director of Pure Comms – on his mobile at around 6pm and explained that the in-coming lines were down.

“Within an hour of logging the fault an engineer was working on the problem and by 9.20pm that evening the lines were back up and working, resulting in minimum disruption and a clear day ahead so we could hit the ground running.”

According to Steve, if the problem had been left to their previous supplier he is not certain it would have been resolved so swiftly.

“Would the problem have been sorted so efficiently? To be honest I doubt it – the quality and support Pure Comms offer is demonstrably a cut above.”

Pure Comms’ Operations Manager Gemma McMillan solved the issue by logging into the BT system from home – which all of Pure Comms staff are able to do.

Rob-VivianRob explains: “We provide all employees with free Broadband for scenarios just like this and any member of staff can quickly resolve a problem out of hours for our customers.

“In this instance when I received the call I was travelling across the country but quickly phoned our Operations Manager to get the fault in the system logged and resolved.”

According to Rob this kind of ‘hands on’ customer service and support can often be found wanting from many other providers due to the approach to provision they have taken.

He comments: “Many telecoms providers are slashing their prices to win contracts; which not just creates a race to the bottom but compromises the service and support that providers give their customers. We’re priced a little higher but that’s because cheap isn’t good – you get what you pay for.”

Mark Wayne, who is Managing Director at BWOC certainly agrees.

He said: “Pure Comms are an excellent company to deal with. The service they offer is first class, and an improvement on previous providers for our telecommunications.

“They really care about their customers and offer a superb service, which although not the cheapest has to be one of the best and saves you in the long-run as you experience less downtime.”

Pure Comms was established in 2009 by entrepreneur Rob Vivian, who previously worked in London for procurement consultants Kendrick James.

The company work together with a number of high-profile clients that include Bristol Airport, Computerworld, recruitment consultants Redrock and Opus and one of the UK’s leading fuel suppliers BWOC.
