Clevedon based telecoms provider Pure Comms were crowned Business of the Year at the Sian Lloyd Jones Business Awards 2012.

The event was held at the Winter Gardens in Weston-super-Mare and Pure Comms scooped top prize thanks to its year on year growth, employment of new staff, bespoke customer service model and major customer acquisitions.

Collecting his award, which was presented to him by Chairman of North Somerset Council Cllr Terry Porter, Pure Comms’ Managing Director Rob Vivian had this to say: “I am delighted to win the business of the year award.

“We have had a very successful year and this award recognises all the investment, training and hard work we’ve put in. The Pure Comms team has worked incredibly hard. They fully deserve this accolade.”

Rob also praised the work carried out by the North Somerset Enterprise Agency to support businesses in the region: “The advice and support we have received from the Enterprise Agency has been very valuable.

“I can’t recommend them highly enough. They offer an honest and informed service and events calendar which is good for business.”

He also singled out North Somerset as a key business destination: “North Somerset is a great place to do business and Pure Comms has thrived thanks to the region’s excellent business infrastructure and business friendly environment.”

The event was sponsored by Santander Bank and North Somerset Council’s Economic Development Team; with Santander presenting the awards together with Cllr Terry Porter.

Plum Communications and PR and Thermal Roofs Ltd also walked away with awards on the night, coming behind Pure Comms who won the overall Business of The Year Award.

The Sian Lloyd Jones Business Awards 2012 is organised by the North Somerset Enterprise Agency and Angela Hicks, who is its Chief Executive, comments:“We are delighted that Pure Comms have won this year’s Sian Lloyd Jones Award as they are a great example of how finding a niche in the market, working hard and being prepared to seek advice and support can reap huge rewards in a relatively short space of time. Pure Comms was set up in 2009 by entrepreneur Rob and is based at The Radius Enterprise Centre in Clevedon Hall, Clevedon.

The company work with a number of high-profile businesses and organisations such as Bristol Airport, the UK’s leading fuel supplier BWOC, recruitment consultants Redrock and Opus and Computerworld.

Earlier this year the company’s excellent performance was further recognised by a visit from North Somerset MP Dr Liam Fox.
