Connectivity

Many of our clients operate in sectors and offer business services which rely heavily on connections to the outside world (e.g. fixed line connectivity, internet connectivity and mobile connections).

We understand that high quality, reliable and consistent connections and systems are paramount to the efficiency of both our clients and other business.

We offer a range of options to meet differing business needs, from businesses employing 5 employees through to 500+ and from small scale operations through to multi-site large-scale businesses.

We can provide PBX telephone systems which are both ‘fixed’ within your place of work or hosted via the internet, connected to traditional and BT circuits or IP. We can switch existing services to our network quickly and easily, guaranteeing minimal disruption and highest quality ongoing connections.

‘Connectivity’ options we offer, which provide the physical links between your business and the outside world, include:

Fixed Line Connectivity:

These are relatively inexpensive and reliable connections and equipment using traditional BT circuits. However, it should be noted that they do not offer the same functionality/features as digital/hosted/VoIP systems. Analogue lines (single copper cable) can be used for voice calls and/or broadband services.

It is recognised that call quality tends to be clearer on an ISDN2 line in comparison to a standard analogue line. ISDN2 lines can be used for both voice and data communications. Starting from 2 channels (1 line), additional connections (in pairs) can be added up to 8 channels, helping to increase the number of simultaneous connections and/or bandwidth.

Often used in businesses with eight or more employees, ISDN30/ISDN30e offer high-performance voice and data services. Each connection offers 8-30 independent 64K channels, idea for businesses who require greater bandwidth and/or use large amounts of data. ISDN30/ISDN30e connections are also ideal when linking multiple sites/offices together.

SIP (Session Initiation Protocol) is a type of VoIP communication which is often referred to as VoIP. SIP Trunking enables businesses to make calls over their IP connection rather than a traditional phone line. All that is required is an internet connection and phone system (no phone line). Key benefits of SIP trunking are: 1) no separate phone line is required; and 2) calls are often cheaper. However, investment may be required in the data network or phone system.

Internet Connectivity:

This is the most common form of Broadband used, mostly at home. Delivered over copper pairs from the local exchange to nearby street cabinets, product set-up and rental charges are lower-priced. However, this is not viewed as a ‘business-grade’ Broadband solution due to the relatively low upload speeds and the fact that it does include any repair Service Level Agreements (SLAs). Download speeds: minimum of 17Mbps, maximum of 19.5Mbps. Upload speeds up to 1.5Mbps.

Openreach is currently rolling FTTC out across the UKs copper network to improve home and businesses upload and download speeds. FTTC speeds are up to 7 times faster, however, as with ADSL, it does not carry any repair SLA’s. Download speeds: minimum 44Mbps up to 76Mbps (maximum). Upload speeds 10-19Mbps.

FTTP is delivered over fibre optic cable to the premises and typically runs much faster than other forms of Broadband with up to 330MB download speeds

GEA is a business Broadband product which uses copper infrastructure. It is recommended that businesses with over 10 employees should use this as, unlike FTTC, traffic goes through the Ethernet ensuring consistent and higher speeds. GEA is fully compliant with web technologies such as VOIP and the service is uncontended (i.e. speeds are guaranteed regardless of the time of day). Speeds are symmetrical (i.e. download and upload speeds are the same). Download speeds: minimum of 20Mbps, maximum of 20Mbps. Upload speeds up to 20Mbsp.

This is a business grade Broadband connection with high dependency on connectivity to the Internet, online databases VOIP traffic etc. This is an uncontended service with lines offering speeds up to 40GB. Speeds are symmetrical. Download speeds: minimum of 10Mbps, maximum of 100Mbps. Upload speeds up to 100Mbsp.

We are installing Gigabit Ethernet connections to many businesses with 10 or more employees due to the speed and reliability. Contact us today to find out more.

These lines are faster and the most reliable. They are normally used by organisations who need to share large volumes of data and/or require multiple site-to-site connections. Again, this service is uncontended with symmetrical speeds and is fully managed. Download speeds: minimum of 100Mbps, maximum of 1000Mbps. Upload speeds between 100Mbsp – 1GIG.
