Hosted/Cloud PBX

As well as being available as a ‘physical fixed’ system located within a businesses’ workplace, PBX are also available in hosted /cloud formats, often referred to as Centrex. Hosted/cloud systems are hosted off-site ‘in the cloud’ and are internet based voice (VoIP) and data communications. These systems can help businesses reduce the cost of investing in equipment associated with a phone system and ongoing maintenance costs, whilst still offering features such as conference calling, call logs, voicemail etc. They can also offer businesses greater flexibility as calls can be taken/made/managed from a desktop, computer and mobile. However, they do require a consistent and reliable internet connection which can be an issue for some businesses, depending upon where they are located.

Main Telephone Systems

There are three main telephone systems (and associated equipment) that we provide: Unify, NEC and BT Hosted.

The Unify and NEC PBX systems are available in both on-site/fixed and hosted/cloud based formats. The BT Hosted system is only available in a hosted format. Below is a description of each of these systems:

We have a long-standing relationship with Unify and have successfully completed a range of technical exams in order to become accredited as a ‘Unify Partner.’  This accolade demonstrates our commitment to providing the very best unified communications solutions for businesses.

With a vast knowledge and skill set around the ‘OpenScape Business’ range, we can design and build tailor-made, bespoke solutions for small SME’s through to large companies. In addition to the design and build service that we offer, we also install, maintain and support all Unify phone systems.

In terms of the Unify systems we offer, these include:

  • X1 – Entry level system which is wall mounted. This can support up to 30 extensions and can be a mixture of TDM, HFA, IP and analogue.  However, the X1 can’t be expanded;
  • X3 – the smallest of the three ‘expandable’ systems. These are wall mounted or rack mounted and can support up to 500 extensions.
  • X5 – this is the mid-sized expandable system which can be wall mounted or rack mounted. Supporting 500 extensions, this system also offers a range of features such as four built-in ISDN2 channels, six card slots (which can use ISDN30 cards), four built in analogue extensions etc.
  • X8 – this is the largest system available and is only available in a rack mount format. This is the most complex of the systems offering a range of functions and supporting up to 500 extensions.  This system is large (the size of a small fridge), with all phones/trunks/lines using cards.

A key benefit of a Unify system is that there are a large range of UCC (Unified Communications and Collaboration) add-ons which can be added onto these systems.  This enables a Unify phone system to integrate into the operation of your business seamlessly. Key features available include Unify’s myPortal, which boasts, email integration, presence, IM and mobility.

Other benefits of a Unify system include:

  • Flexibility for the system to grow with your business including the ability to add IP voice, web collaboration, advanced messaging, mobility and video conferencing to existing infrastructure;
  • Improved business efficiency;
  • Reduced costs;
  • Increased revenue;
  • Enhanced customer service;
  • Offer interoperability;
  • Robust, scalable and future proof; and/or

Flexible and customisable.

We have a long-standing relationship with NEC and accordingly have gained NEC Partner status. The NEC’s diverse range of phone systems (including the SV9100), enables us to cater for the needs of businesses from 2 to 500+ users as we recognise there is no ‘one size fits all’ solution when it comes to telecoms.

Along with UCC (Unified Communications and Collaboration) apps and add-ons, the NEC comes with a powerful reporting tool called MyCalls. This is an integrated call logging option which can provide a huge range of reports (both standard and bespoke) to suit your business needs.

Other benefits of a NEC system include:

  • Capacity to expand with your business;
  • Free applications;
  • Intelligent call recording;
  • Protects against fraud; and/or
  • Ability to manage a teams’ activity.

We offer a VoIP/Hosted UCC solution through BT Wholesales HVS platform. Offering flexibility and ‘plug and play’ configuration, this solution suits all types of businesses and offers a cost-effective way of running your business operations.

Here are a few of the USP’s to our hosted solution –
