A train set that is 50 foot long has been built in the Pure Comms boardroom in order to add character to their Bristol offices and to demonstrate the firm’s advanced technology.

‘We’ve done it because it is fun,’ says Managing Director Rob Vivian ‘but also to show how we are at the cutting-edge when it comes to technology. It is controlled digitally and from September the whole layout will be controlled via smartphone.’

There is also six mini web cameras that will be linked up to the company website, allowing visitors to switch between views.

Rob says the train track can also be controlled from anywhere in the world.

It has been built by model train expert Mick Parrott, who spent over a year working on it.

Finance Director Colin Pearson oversaw the project and Technical Manager at Pure Comms Phil Wilkins was responsible for the web and smartphone integration.

Within the track there is a mainline terminus, branch-line station, two engine sheds, 34 locomotives and an embankment and viaduct.

At Pure Comms’ offices, staff and customers can also enjoy an indoor aquarium housing some of the rarest reptiles in the world; as well as a five thousand pound fish tank, that was imported from Israel.

Rob Vivian concludes: ‘Creating a working and business environment that make our staff proud is what Pure Comms is all about. Even if you’re not a train enthusiast, it’s a great spectacle and definitely a talking point when we hold meeting.’
