MORE and more business are turning to personal trainers to keep their staff fit and healthy in order to boost productivity and profits.
But one south west company has gone the extra mile and employed its long-term personal trainer on a full-time basis.
For two years Ed Iles spent every Tuesday lunchtime and Friday afternoon at fast-growing telecoms provider Pure Comms’ offices, whipping staff into shape with cardio and boxing workouts.
Rob Vivian, Managing Director at Pure Comms and recent winner of Entrepreneur of the Year at a major awards, was so impressed with Ed’s dedication and positive attitude he has appointed him to the role of Customer Services Executive at the firm.
Rob comments: “Ed has shown great commitment to the company, has established positive relationships with all of the team, and is a fantastic motivator. I believe he is ideal for a role where he is dealing with customers on a day-to-day basis; and focus on high-end operational tasks.”
Ed will be responsible for managing client accounts and drumming up new business.
He comments: “During the time as personal trainer for the Pure Comms team I’ve got to know everyone and find out more about the business. I’m excited to be part of such an ambitious company and will continue to help it be as lean and productive as it can be – both as a full-time employee and as its in-house personal trainer.
“From working at close quarters with the Pure Comms team – I knew I wanted to join the firm.”
Since its establishment Pure Comms has quickly become one of the leading telecoms providers in the region, employing fifteen staff across two offices – one of which is just outside of Bristol and another in St Austell Cornwall.
Pure Comms works with a number of high-profile clients including Bristol Airport, BWOC, auctioneers Bonhams, Opus, Computerworld and Redrock Consulting.
Pure Comms also recently struck a major deal with retail giant the Co-Operative Group to provide the telecoms infrastructure to power promotional videos in 400 Co-Operative stores across the UK.
